As Russia continues to attack seemingly to maximize civilian casualties, children are caught in the crossfire. Churches, hospitals, schools, and even orphanages are no longer safe places. UNICEF reports the war is having a devastating impact on Ukraine’s 7.5 million children, who “continue to be killed, wounded, and deeply traumatized by the violence all around them” (source).

As if the war itself were not enough, children are at great risk of getting lost, kidnapped, and trafficked as they make their way to safety in neighboring host countries.
