In 2014 the world became aware of the Yazidi people. Though they had been a persecuted people group for centuries prior – enduring 73 genocides throughout history – their unfortunate fate as one of ISIS’s targets brought on their 74th genocide and catapulted them to the forefront of international news. ISIS ravaged the Yazidi town of Sinjar, murdering and kidnapping many, and then forcing the weak, infirmed and elderly to march up the nearby mountain.

At Reload Love, we’ve adopted a different sort of creative vernacular in order to express what it is – exactly – that we do.
We speak of this “movement” as a “Lovement” because we believe that love is at the heart of our mission for these children.
On February 10th Reload Love will launch its 4th annual Love Bomb – a forty-eight-hour virtual giving campaign to bring aid to children throughout the world who’ve been impacted by the horror of terrorism. This year, a portion of the funds raised will help children of the Rohingya tribe.
At Reload Love, we want to honor our volunteers, monthly donors, and partners who make it all possible for us to help the children who are caught in the crossfire of terrorism.
Reload Love has been able to put up a playground for the children in Raqqa, Syria only a few months after a devastating battle to drive out IsIs ended with almost complete devastation of the city and thousands of casualties.
“I started giving because I felt if I couldn’t actually go help and be a missionary, it was my duty to support those who are out there! And mostly because someone has to fight for those precious innocent kids! So my husband and I feel like we’re a small part of something bigger. To see the joy that this ministry is giving them is all worth it!”
My first day in Jordan I was sent out on a home visit. I met a Syrian mother and her two small children. She shared her story plagued with fear, abuse and illness. We shared stories of Jesus, she wept. I held her baby girls, I never wanted to leave. As we left the woman kissed my cheeks and asked me to come back to her. This woman was nine months pregnant and because of her physical condition she was expecting to die during childbirth. I would never see them again.
This is Shamim – a 7 year old child that was shot in the leg from Burma soldiers that raided his town. Thankfully he was able to escape with his life – but barely. Others weren’t as lucky (such as his father who was killed in earlier terroristic events from the soldiers). Shamim now suffers from nightmares.
