The Qaraqosh cross is named for the largest Christian city in the Mosul region, often considered the cradle of Christianity in Iraq. ISIS began attacking this area in 2014, murdering Christians, demolishing churches and burning down peoples’ homes. In just three short years, the town which had previously been inhabited by nearly 40,000 Christians had turned into a ghost town, with many people murdered, and many having fled for safety to Jordan and other areas within Iraq.
At Reload Love, we’ve adopted a different sort of creative vernacular in order to express what it is – exactly – that we do.
We speak of this “movement” as a “Lovement” because we believe that love is at the heart of our mission for these children.
At Reload Love, we want to honor our volunteers, monthly donors, and partners who make it all possible for us to help the children who are caught in the crossfire of terrorism.
“I started giving because I felt if I couldn’t actually go help and be a missionary, it was my duty to support those who are out there! And mostly because someone has to fight for those precious innocent kids! So my husband and I feel like we’re a small part of something bigger. To see the joy that this ministry is giving them is all worth it!”
This is Shamim – a 7 year old child that was shot in the leg from Burma soldiers that raided his town. Thankfully he was able to escape with his life – but barely. Others weren’t as lucky (such as his father who was killed in earlier terroristic events from the soldiers). Shamim now suffers from nightmares.
Here at Reload Love, we try our best to keep everyone up to date with the work that people like you are helping us accomplish in the lives of the children we seek to serve. Below, you’ll find some highlights for each month of the 2017 calendar year…
If you were a refugee mother like Lina, afraid to walk the street, feeling incredibly isolated and cooped up with traumatized children all day long, wouldn’t a playground be a great place to decompress? There you may make a friend…
Through our local Burmese partners, Reload Love has sponsored children’s programs, provided clothing, and built playgrounds. Here, you’ll see a brief visual representation of our time spent for and among the people we seek to serve.
Reload Love – as a part of our ongoing effort to arm terrorism-affected children with hope – is proud to have supported the expansion of a school and playground in Poi Pet, Cambodia.
Recently, Reload Love purchased new transportation for one of our partner organizations, in addition to providing funding toward children’s programs in Thailand for displaced Burmese refugees.
