  • Three Pagodas Church will minister to hill tribes near Payathonzu, Myanmar.
  • Three Pagodas Pass is named after three small stupas, mound-like structures that mark meditation sites.
  • The area's Karen and Mon people are neither citizens of Myanmar nor Thailand. The Mon are a major ethnic group—and one of the oldest—in Myanmar.
  • The majority of refugees from Myanmar are Karen, Karenni, and Mon.

  • God has used James' dentistry and ministry skills to lead many Bamar (Burmese) Buddhists to faith in Jesus.
  • In obedience to the Lord's calling, James moved to Bo Cho Island.
  • Bo Cho is one of more than 800 islands in the Mergui Archipelago in far southern Myanmar.
  • The Salon (Moken) people settle on Bo Cho during the rainy season.
  • Also called Sea Gypsies, the Salon prefer to roam the sea on their handmade boats called kabang.

  • Ahkhi's parents came to faith in Jesus through American missionaries in Myanmar.
  • On mission north of Mandalay in Mogok, Ahkhi shared the gospel with the Lisu people.
  • Their religion combines ancestor worship with animism, and they worship gods of earth, sky, wind, lightning, and forest.
  • In obedience to the Lord's calling, Ahkhi moved to Htaukkyant, Yangon.
  • Near Htaukkyant is a well-known cemetery where nearly 6,400 World War II veterans are laid to rest.
  • The cemetery includes Rangoon Memorial, which bears the names of 27,000 World War II soldiers who have no known grave.

  • Paul grew up worshiping spirits and ancestors.
  • In obedience to the Lord's calling, Paul and his family moved to Paletwa, Chin State.
  • Chin State is one of the least developed areas of the country and has the highest poverty rate.
  • The Chin people are one of the most persecuted minority groups in Myanmar.
  • There are 31 different varieties of the Chin language.
  • Chin women are renowned for their face tattoos; however, face tattooing was banned in the 1960s.
  • Due to American missionaries, 90% of ethnic Chin are Christians.
